1) Hygiene maintain: Typhoid is spread by eating or drinking
food or water contaminated with the feces of an infected person. So, careful
food preparation and washing of hands are crucial to prevent typhoid.
How to prepare food safely: Vegetables, fruits and cooking utensils should be cleaned in clean water. Take only well cooked foods. Wash hands thoroughly before eating, preparing or serving food.
Drinking water: Drink only the pure water, boiled well or bottled pure water. Save adequate amount of boiling water or refined water and drink water stored in 24 hours so that water cannot be contaminated by Typhoid Bacteria.
When to wash your hands: After using the toilet, Before cleaning your baby, Before preparing food or serving, Before eating or before eating your baby. Always use soap to wash hands properly.

It is recommended for those at high risk or people traveling to areas where the disease is common.
